6 Cheap Ways To Make Your Dog’s Day

November 15, 2021

The Thanksgiving holiday is just a couple weeks off. We are so thankful for our canine pals! Dogs are absolutely adorable, not to mention loving, loyal, loyal, and playful. They also serve as living reminders that sometimes the best things in life really are the little things. It doesn’t take much to please Fido. Here, a vet lists some inexpensive ways to get that tail going!

Playing is not only fun for Fido, but it also offers him a great workout and beneficial mental stimulation. Try to make a habit of carving out at least a few minutes of doggy playtime every day. This will keep your furry pal both healthy and happy!

Did you know that learning new things is something many of our canine buddies actually enjoy? Learning a new command or trick can be a great confidence booster for your pooch. And too, dogs really love to please their humans. You can see how adorably happy Fido gets when he gets praised for being a good boy!

Daily walks aren’t just about going to the bathroom for Man’s Best Friend. Dogs pick up a lot of information from smells. Sniffing around offers him mental stimulation and helps satisfy your pup’s natural curiosity about his surroundings. Even if you have a yard for your furry buddy to chase squirrels in and patrol, you should walk your pet at least once every day. Try not to think of taking Fido out as a must-do chore. The fresh air and exercise will be good for you, too!

Comfy Beds

One small luxury that can make a huge difference is good bedding. As much as half of Fido’s time will be spent sleeping, so it’s important for him to have a good bed to snooze in. We usually recommend orthopedic beds for larger dogs.

New Toys

When he spots a new plaything, Fido is always super cute. You don’t have to break the bank buying dog toys, though. It can be as simple as making a homemade rope pull by cutting an old tee-shirt or towel into strips, and braiding them together. Instant tail wags!

Paying attention to Fido offers the best way to get his tail going. That special bond we form with our canine companions must be nurtured!
